On April 24, Hou Hao, a Gen Z employee from the transportation team of Harwusu Open-pit Coal Mine under Zhunneng Group, completed hematopoietic stem cell collection smoothly. The 238 milliliters of hematopoietic stem cell suspension he donated will deliver hope of life to a distant patient with hematological diseases. Hou Hao became the sixth donor in Zhunneng Group, the 15th in Jungar Banner and the 246th in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
“Hematopoietic stem cell donation is a relay of life and I am just one runner. The most precious significance of this life relay lies in bringing hope to an unfamiliar family and giving another person reborn of life.” said Hou Hao.
Hou Hao learned about the lifesaving value of hematopoietic stem cell donation during a voluntary blood donation organized by the company in 2024. He submitted blood samples and joined the China Marrow Donor Program on the spot. In early April this year, he received notification of a successful initial matching from the local Red Cross Society, and agreed to the donation without hesitation. He passed high-resolution testing and comprehensive physical examinations and fully met the donation requirements.
The whole collection process lasted more than three hours and was completed successfully. The 238 milliliters of hematopoietic stem cell suspension carrying the hope of life was immediately sent by dedicated personnel to the hospital in the patient’s city, and put into clinical treatment without delay to bring the chance of rebirth to the unknown patient.
