On October 11, the Suning Branch of Railway Equipment Company organized a volunteer service campaign themed “Conveying Love in Autumn to Celebrate the Double Ninth Festival”, carrying forward the fine tradition of the Chinese nation of respecting and taking care of the elderly.
To ensure a successful event, the Suning Branch organized the volunteer service campaign in a hybrid format. On one hand, employees extended their sincere greetings to the retired workers on the Double Ninth Festival by phone, expressing gratitude for their selfless dedication and long-standing support for the development of the company, and wishing them good health and happiness in retirement. On the other hand, the volunteer team visited the Nursing Home of Shenchi County, bringing gifts including milk, fruit, and instant noodles to the elderly living alone. The volunteers engaged in conversations with the elderly, learning about their regimens in an atmosphere of laughter and joy. The volunteers also reminded the elderly to take care of themselves, stay positive, and enjoy a peaceful and fulfilling retirement. In addition, the volunteers provided practical assistance, including cleaning and tidying the living spaces of the elderly. They shared safety tips on using fire and electricity, preventing carbon monoxide poisoning, avoiding telecom fraud, and reminded about the common scams on elderly care to help enhance the ability of the elderly to identify and prevent fraud, thereby protecting their financial security and enhancing their sense of safety and happiness. The elderly expressed their appreciation while holding volunteers’ hands tightly and noting, “Thank you for your concern. We are truly grateful!”
The success of this event further fostered the social culture of respecting and caring for the elderly, contributing to the company’s enhancement of cultural foundations.
