Recently, the 2nd Wubu County Green Pear Harvest Festival was successfully held in Lijiahe Village of Xinjiagou Town, and Dalianpo Village of Songjiachuan Town. The orchards were filled with plump and ripe green pears on the branches. Farmers were occupied with picking and carrying pears, while visitors were strolling along the orchards and enjoying the fruit-picking experience. What a scene of harvest and peace it is!
“I’ve never expected so many visitors. I’m thrilled! I hope we have an abundant harvest of pear every year, and that our life will get better”, said a villager, Huo Zhiming with evident pleasure.
In 2024, Shendong Coal Group invested RMB 320,000 in disaster prevention and reduction projects for green pear base orchards in Dalianpo Village and the infrastructure construction for fruit-animal husbandry-methane circular agriculture development. The investment supported the 40.8 hectares of hail prevention nets and fences installation, as well as a 360-cubic-meter harmless waste treatment facility construction, boosting the high-quality development of Wubu’s green pear industry. By adopting an industrial development model combining “village collective economy+leading enterprise trusteeship+rural household”, Shendong Coal Group has provided full-chain support for Wubu’s green pear industry. Dalianpo Village has become a demonstration village for pear cultivation in Wubu, driving high-quality development of the green pear industry in the county.
