On August 9, the Sunshine Volunteer Service Team of Shuohuang Railway, in collaboration with the Blue Sky Rescue Team, local emergency management bureau, the Red Cross Society, the Fan Shu Cangzhou Operations Center and Cangzhou TV Station, organized a summer “drowning prevention” safety education lecture through live broadcast platforms.
The event was live streamed on new media platforms, including Douyin, Kuaishou, and official WeChat accounts, attracting extensive public attention and engagement. During the live broadcast, instructors from the Sunshine Volunteer Service Team and Blue Sky Rescue Team introduced the causes, processes, symptoms, vulnerable groups, and common locations of drowning incidents through case studies, engaging Q&A sessions, and practical knowledge popularization. They emphasized prevention methods, self-rescue techniques, and effective rescue procedures, and unveiled common misconceptions about rescue methods. The instructors called for the public to remain vigilant and avoid entering dangerous water areas.
To help the audience better understand drowning rescue skills, the instructors conducted a live demonstration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques for drowning victims. Moreover, an educational film on drowning prevention was shown, reinforcing safety awareness through real-life cases. Many participants expressed that the live session had not only taught them drowning prevention knowledge but also equipped them with self-rescue skills and correct methods for helping others in emergencies, making the experience highly beneficial.
