Recently, firefighters from the emergency support center of Zhungeer Energy Group presented a class on fire safety which integrated experience with education at the No.1 Kindergarten of Xuejiawan Town, in an effort to improve fire safety awareness and self-rescue skills of teachers and students alike.
To teach the children how to protect themselves in fire, a firefighting exercise was staged in the kindergarten. During the exercise, led by teachers and firefighters, the students covered their noses and mouths with wet towels, leaned down and quickly evacuated. Later, firefighters showed the children how to use water hoses, fire extinguishing protective clothing, air breathing apparatus and various demolition tools in the playground. Through fun interactions, they taught the teachers and students how to report a fire, how to ensure fire and electricity safety in daily life and how to use a fire extinguisher. The children tried to wear firefighting equipment with excitement and learned how to use firefighting lances. Through the experience process, teachers and students not only had fun but also learned knowledge about firefighting.
Teachers of the kindergarten said that the class was meaningful for children, enabling them to be aware of fire safety, which would help them in the future.
