November 9, 2022 marked the 31st “119” National Firefighting Day in China. The Safety Supervision Bureau of Shendong Coal collaborated with fire and rescue brigades of Shaanxi Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to launch a campaign themed “Strengthening Fire Prevention and Ensuring High-quality Development,” with an aim to promote fire prevention in workplaces and enhance all employees’ awareness of fire prevention and safety.
During the campaign, the staff distributed brochures on knowledge about fire prevention and safety to the public, and gave the public an education in fire prevention and first aid. They also reminded people to keep a close eye on electricity, fire and gas safety in daily life especially in winter, so as to fundamentally prevent and reduce the possibilities of fire accidents. Participants signed their names on a wall to pledge that they would follow relevant safety rules. The campaign created an atmosphere in the mining zones that encouraged everyone to pay attention to and participate in firefighting. Besides, a prize-winning quiz on firefighting knowledge was organized, attracting many participants on the spot.
The Safety Supervision Bureau of Shendong Coal has formulated a plan for organizing the “119” Firefighting Publicity Month based on its actual fire safety conditions, which includes activities such as the publicity of knowledge to “prevent high-rise fires and keep fire passages unimpeded,” prizing-winning firefighting knowledge quiz, and fire safety video solicitation among all its employees. Through these measures, the company aims to further enhance its employees’ fire safety awareness and self-rescue capacity, improve the company’s fire prevention capacity, and reduce fire risks.
