Considering the traditional virtues of reaching out to the disabled, supporting and loving each other, and in the volunteering spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual help and progress”, the Charity Association of Railway Equipment Company jointly launched the “Volunteers Helping Disabled Individuals for a Heart-warming Mid-Autumn Festival” with local volunteers on September 3. The activity fostered a festive atmosphere of care, mutual help, joy and peace.
The volunteers made early visits to the local disabled families, learned about their real difficulties and confirmed ten families in particular need of help. The volunteers followed up by sending a dozen kinds of presents including cooking oil, flour, eggs, milk, mooncakes and fruits, encouraging these disabled families to have confidence in life.
“Thank you for coming to visit Wang Ruixue. She got up very early this morning and has been waiting for you.” In Liangcun Town, Wang’s family invited the volunteers in with warm greetings and heartfelt gratitude. The volunteers had a cordial conversation with Wang’s family, learned more about her current situation and advised her to take good care and stay positive. With volunteers’ warm company and care from society, these visits encouraged disabled families to take a positive outlook and steady determination to overcome the difficulties in life.
The Railway Equipment Company has long been promoting relationships with localities where the rail line located, encouraging staff to take part in local volunteer services. Over the years, the company has participated in over 70 public welfare activities, donated money and goods worth more than 100,000 yuan, and won several glory banners including “Fulfilling Little Dreams, Fighting Against Poverty”, “Social Welfare Activities Helping Those in Need”, and “Charity and Gratitude All the Way”, all of which embody the noble quality of selfless dedication of the Railway Equipment staff, and their practice of corporate responsibility with actual deeds.
