On July 16, the staff of Local Enterprise Coordination Center of Shendong Coal paid a visit to the home of Zhang Erniao, who relocated into Xishan Jiayuan Community in Ejin Horo Banner, Inner Mongolia. They came to them to collect suggestions on the government’s efforts of improving the living environment of the relocated residents.
Zhang and his wife welcomed the guests and treated them with delicious watermelons. They were quite delighted when they learned that the greening, safety monitoring, and roads of the community would be improved.
Before relocating to Xishan Jiayuan Community, the couple lived in Bulian Haizi Village, Wulanmulun Town. In 2013, they moved into the comfortable resettlement housing. Now Zhang works at the management department of the community property, and his wife runs a beauty salon. The annual income of the family has reached about 200,000 yuan.
The good changes in the life of Zhang’s family is a typical example of the relocation model developed by Shendong Coal. For many years, Shendong Coal has worked closely with the Compensation Office of the government of Ejin Horo Banner to facilitate poverty reduction and the corresponding relocation of local people. They regarded the relocation work as a major project to improve locals’ life, and strived to ensure the smooth relocation, pleasant life and poverty alleviation for local people.
