On October 14, the cargo vessel “XINHANG 998,” loaded with angular stone, set sail from the terminal of China Shenhua’s Guangdong Taishan Power Plant, officially launching the Plant’s outbound shipping business, which unlocked new value from the Plant’s existing port resources and created a new growth driver beyond power generation.

The terminal of Guangdong Taishan Power Plant, located in the core operating area of the Guanghai Bay Port Area of Jiangmen Port, is a national Class-I port. Previously, the terminal was dedicated mainly to coal unloading for power generation. Today, its berths, storage yards, and handling capacity have been opened up to third-party commercial cargo, creating an outbound shipping channel for bulk cargo such as sand, stone, and building materials in Guanghai Bay and surrounding areas. Its routes now extend to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Hainan Province, and Southeast Asia.

To advance the commercial operation of the terminal, the Plant aligned with the overall plan of Jiangmen Port, assessed regional market and enterprise demand, engaged with sand and stone mining companies, and completed the feasibility study for commercial operation, business license amendment and port operation license processing. It also coordinated with customs, border inspection, maritime authorities, and other joint inspection agencies at the port to ensure the first vessel departed on schedule.
