On December 27, Unit 4 of Guangxi Beihai Company officially entered commercial operation after passing a 168-hour full-load trial run and all performance indicators meeting the design requirements. Up to now, all four 1000-MW generator sets of Beihai Company’s Phase I and Phase II Projects have been put into operation, with total installed capacity reaching 4000 MW.
With the commissioning of Unit 4, Beihai’s integrated energy base for “power generation, port operation, storage and transportation” was completed. Two 100,000-tonne general-purpose terminals are capable of handling mainstream global coal carriers. A supporting coal storage yard with an annual storage and transportation capacity of 10 million tonnes was built. A complete chain of “terminal coal unloading—base coal storage—unit coal combustion” has been formed, providing solid energy support for Guangxi to build a national comprehensive energy security guarantee zone and to develop the New Western Land-sea Corridor at a high level.
As a key project in Guangxi’s 14th Five-year Plan for Energy Development, Beihai Company fully implements the new energy security strategy of Four Revolutions and One Cooperation. It focuses on the construction needs of the new power system. Phase I and Phase II Projects include two 1000-MW ultra-supercritical double-reheat coal-fired units and two 1000-MW ultra-supercritical single-reheat coal-fired units respectively. Among them, Units 3 and 4 of the Phase II Project are the best in their category in Guangxi in terms of parameter level, emission index, energy consumption index, peak regulation capacity and load change rate. They are the largest supporting and regulating power sources in the region, providing strong guarantee for the safe and stable operation of the power grid and the construction of the new power system.
Centering on the Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals, the Company fully applied ultra-low emission and seawater desulfurization technologies. It achieved “zero limestone, zero solid waste and zero desulfurization wastewater discharge”. All emission indicators reached the regional top level. The Company steadily advanced green transformation. It built a 27.29-MW distributed photovoltaic project based on local conditions, created an innovative application scenario of “photovoltaic carports + intelligent charging piles”, and constructed a green closed-loop of “power generation—charging—carbon inclusion”, effectively reducing carbon emission intensity.
Meanwhile, the Company promoted the construction of the integrated energy base for “power, port, storage and transportation” in a coordinated way, organically integrating power generation, port operation, coal storage and transportation. It built and put into operation two 100,000-tonne general-purpose berths, adopted an innovative “screw coal unloader + automatic coal unloading system”, and realized fully enclosed, clean and intelligent operation. It also built a 650,000-tonne coal reserve base simultaneously, forming an integrated and clean operation pattern of coal unloading, storage, combustion and outward transportation.
