As of March 24, the “Guoneng” 24-axis high-power AC drive electric locomotive on Baoshen Railway has registered over 12 million tonnes of cumulative freight volume since its operation five years ago, reaching 12.22 million tonnes, with safe operation of 1,433 heavy-haul trains, each weighing over 10,000 tonnes, and a total mileage of 647,000 kilometers, continuing to ensure stable energy supplies.
In order to continuously improve the locomotive’s safe operation and supply capability, and to respond to the challenges of running heavy-haul trains on the Shenshuo Line, including large slopes, bridges, tunnels and curves, Baoshen Railway Group has deployed technical backbones to establish a dedicated operation and maintenance team, and has continuously improved the maintenance of locomotive’s intelligent operation and maintenance system, locomotive operation methods, various repair processes, and station marshaling patterns, giving full play to the locomotive’s advantages of intelligence & efficiency, flexible marshaling, and green & low-carbon operation.
Over the past five years since its operation, the “Guoneng” 24-axis high-power AC drive electric locomotive has created considerable economic benefits to Baoshen Railway Group, and provided solutions and development paths for the Group to promote the intelligent development with extensive application of big data, information-based and intelligent technology.
