On October 31, the Qiantong Logistics Dedicated Line at Nuanshui Freight Station on the Xinshuo Railway officially commenced operations, boosting the operation capacity of the Bazhun Line, and providing coal shipment customers with enhanced railway transportation capacities.
Located in the core coal mining area of Zhunge’er Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, the Qiantong Logistics Dedicated Line stretches from both ends of Nuanshui East Station on the Bazhun Line, and is vertically positioned at the south of the Nuanshui East Station with coal transportation as its core business. Shipments on this line can travel through the Bazhun, Dazhun, and Shuohuang Railways to coastal ports. With a total track length designed for 10,000-tonne trains, the line’s loading capacity is projected at 10 million tonnes per year for the near term, with an anticipated increase to 15 million tonnes per year for the long term.
The Bazhun Line of Xinshuo Railway spans from Batuta Station on the Baoshen Railway in the west to Diandaigou Station on the Dazhun Railway in the east, covering a total length of 128 kilometers. It is a national-level I, double-track, electrified, and heavy-haul railway with a 10,000-tonne load capacity. After operation, the new dedicated line is expected to increase 4.8 million tonnes of coal shipments annually to the Bazhun Line, serving as a new growth force for the line’s freight capacity. This will enhance CHN Energy’s transportation network capabilities and strengthen market competitiveness in the region, promoting the policy implementation of train transportation instead of truck transportation. It will also improve the coal transportation capacity of Ordos City and the radiating effect of surrounding coal resources, enhance coal transportation efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and drive regional economic and social development with high quality.
