On May 28, four association standards led by China Shenhua, including the Management Specification for Safe Use of Electric Tools, Management Specification for Safe Use of Pneumatic Tools, Management Specification for Safe Use of Hand Tools, and Management Specification for Safe Use of Lifting Equipment, successfully passed the review. This marks the first comprehensive establishment of safety standards for tool use in China, further advancing the standardization, regulation, and scientific process of safety production and signifying a solid step forward in tool use safety management in China.

Currently, personal injuries and fatalities often occur due to improper management of electric, pneumatic, hand tools, and lifting equipment. The root cause lies in the lack of comprehensive, systematic, and effective management specifications by production and operation units, leading to a lax approach to tool management and usage. The newly developed standards are built on the existing safety production management system, incorporating practical on-site experience. They focus on risk prevention, identifying hazards associated with tool use, and establishing daily risk analysis methods and mechanisms. The standards define specific safe usage methods and performance requirements for common tools, formulating safety use regulations that cover the entire on-site management process for production and operation units, which provides an effective approach for standardized tool management, and plays an important role in enhancing safety production management in the industry.

The review meeting was conducted both online and offline. Experts from national ministries, industry associations, research institutes, colleges, and enterprises took part in the meeting.
