The map data collection vehicle independently designed and developed by Zhungeer Energy Group was recently put into use and proved to be successful in collecting and uploading map data, drastically improving the efficiency of unmanned driving system.
The production zone has been frequently changing in Heidaigou open-pit coal mine. The task of map data collection depended on unmanned trucks, which are large and heavy and were inefficient and inaccurate in data collecting. To solve the problem, the mine used laser radar and inertial navigation system for calibration, SLAM technology to generate three-dimensional data of roads and boundaries, and algorithm to realize automatic fitting and smooth filtering. Thus, a map for the unmanned trucks is generated. The map will be uploaded by the vehicle-mounted 5G telecommunications terminal to the smart operation system for rapid update.
The vehicle is capable of collecting three-dimensional data of the open-pit mine in a rapid manner. It is flexible and easy to use. With high efficiency in collecting data on the roads and loading zones of the mine, it effectively improves productivity.
