As of March 9, Shuohuang Railway’s 20,000-ton heavy-haul trains had been operating safely for six years, providing transportation support for safe and stable energy supply.
To ensure safe operation of the 20,000-ton heavy-haul trains, Shuohuang Railway established a dual safety control mechanism involving risk classification & control and hidden danger investigation and management. After analyzing the causes leading to the problems found in the operation of the trains, it formulated 133 safety measures to prevent and control risks.
Combining human and machine intelligence, the company has effectively improved transportation efficiency and shortened the turnaround time of AC locomotives by 1.9 hours.
Focusing on prominent problems concerning heavy-haul transportation such as car misalignment, hook deflection in some sections, and huge train impulse, the company used comprehensive test locomotive and simulation system to find the law of force in train running and optimize the maneuvering method. With train maneuvers improved 47 times across four stages, refined maneuvering of 20,000-ton heavy-haul trains has been achieved.
The company attaches importance to the selection and training of 20,000-ton train crews. It regularly organizes domestic experts to provide professional training, which has benefited 370 master drivers and 541 assistant drivers, contributing to the company’s talent pool.
