Shendong Coal’s Work Pipe Assembly for Staged Fracturing of Coal Seam Roofs has recently been granted a national invention patent, bringing technological innovation to the field of roof disaster control in deep coal mines.
As coal mining extends into deeper seams, roof strata pressure increases dramatically. Complex geological conditions, such as hard sandstone, frequently lead to hazards including cantilevered roofs and inadequate collapse. These issues not only threaten construction safety but also severely constrain mining efficiency and resource recovery rates. Traditional control methods either carry high blasting risks and potential gas concentration exceedances, or face challenges such as inaccurate hole sealing and insufficient fracture development. Meanwhile, conventional long-hole staged hydraulic fracturing technology is limited by single-pressure control, struggling to adapt to the differentiated fracturing needs of various rock strata, thereby significantly reducing treatment effectiveness.
This patented invention specifically addresses these pain points by innovatively adopting a multi-stage pressure threshold pre-setting mechanism. It allows precise configuration of setting and fracturing pressure parameters based on the lithology, thickness, and structural characteristics of different coal seam roofs, enabling refined control over the construction process. Its core advantage lies in a simplified modular design that ensures reliability in underground operations while avoiding risks associated with traditional equipment, such as drill sticking and packer failure, substantially improving construction efficiency. Compared to conventional techniques, this device can guide the formation of uniform fracture networks in the rock strata, effectively weakening roof strength, resolving issues like end cantilevered roofs and excessive lateral abutment pressure, and simultaneously reducing the risk of gas accumulation.
This technological breakthrough not only fills a gap in precise fracturing technology for deep mine roofs but also provides a replicable solution for mines with similar geological conditions. By enhancing construction precision and safety, it effectively addresses roof disaster control challenges and offers robust technical support for safe coal mine production.
