On October 1, 2022, as “Ankangshan” Bulk Cargo Ship departed from the port with a full load, Ship-to-Shore Digital Twin Intelligent Ship Loading V2.0 Technology was successfully put into operation in Tianjin Port Company.
It is reported that in the intelligent ship loading operation, high-precision BeiDou positioning technology is combined with ship drawings to generate the twin ship model online, supplemented by the data of LIDAR Point Cloud for redundancy correction. Real-time high-precision calculation of ship motion is conducted to steer the automatic operation of ship loaders. Taking into account relevant problems about Ship-to-Shore Digital Twin Intelligent Ship Loading V1.0 Technology, the project team of Tianjin Port Company took users’ perspective to constantly optimize processes, streamlined the first-round operation steps from 54 to 11, and simplified the motions by 80%. Moreover, for the purpose of system feasibility, overload tests were separately taken for a range of ship models and cabins. At present, coupled with new cloth technology, heavy-haul commissioning of 11 ship models was completed, with remarkable operation effects.
The successful application of Ship-to-Shore Digital Twin Intelligent Ship Loading V2.0 Technology effectively eliminates the hidden danger of equipment collision, alleviates the labor intensity of personnel, improves the reliability and safety of equipment service, and technologically underpins the stable supply of energy in a satisfactory manner.
