As of October 19, China Shenhua’s Trading Group had secured 100.33 million tonnes of externally-sourced coal, marking the fourth consecutive year procurement volume has surpassed 100 million tonnes and setting a new all-time high for the same period performance.
Since the beginning of 2026, amid a complex and volatile coal market, the Group has maintained a market-oriented approach. It has strengthened market price analysis, formulated procurement pricing policies in close alignment with market trends, flexibly seized procurement windows, and dynamically adjusted its procurement pace. While stabilizing resource supply, the Group has strictly controlled procurement costs, achieving both reliable energy supply and improved operational efficiency.
The Group has continued to strengthen communication and coordination with suppliers and to intensify resource matching. The dedicated working team for purchased coal procurement has stationed personnel at mining areas in phases as needed to increase resource organization. It regularly convenes Shaanxi-Inner Mongolia purchased coal coordination and liaison meetings, routinely communicates procurement policies and demand requirements, and works with sister units involved in purchased coal procurement to guide suppliers in maintaining a reasonable pace of inventory buildup and shipment. This enhances the binding implementation of annual contracts and guarantees steady resource supply.
The Group has continued to improve its supplier full life-cycle management system. Leveraging the CHN Energy e-commerce platform and the smart operation and management system, it has integrated all core business workflows including supplier onboarding, contract signing, plan submission, performance reminders, settlement, supplier evaluation, and supplier offboarding, achieving full-process closed-loop control of purchased coal. It has optimized its supplier structure and comprehensively improved the quality, efficiency, compliance, and risk control of purchased coal procurement and operations. In 2026, 14 new-onboarded suppliers were admitted with contracted volume of 18.48 million tonnes, and existing suppliers added another 13.27 million tonnes of contracted volume, underpinning stable resource supply.
