On July 31, the first batch of 38,308 tonnes of blended Xinjiang No. 5 coal under CHN Energy was successfully delivered to end-users in Hubei Province via the “sea-to-river” intermodal mode, officially opening a new coal transit corridor from Xinjiang through Huanghua Port to Central China. This shipment marked the full-chain closed-loop practice including procurement, sales, settlement, and payment collection, unlocking key logistics nodes for the Group’s coal delivery from Xinjiang into Central China, while further supporting the extension of the integrated operation and unlocking incremental sales potential.
Since the beginning of this year, the Central China Branch of China Shenhua’s Trading Group has responded to the Group’s arrangement on coal transportation from Xinjiang. Adhering to the operational principles of “integrated operations, market-oriented execution, and full-chain efficiency enhancement”, the branch has implemented the sales strategy for Xinjiang coal into Hubei, Jiangxi, and Anhui provinces, continuously tackling problems such as cross-regional coal source matching challenges, high logistics costs, and complex coordination. By fully leveraging the specific characteristics of Xinjiang No. 5 coal, the Central China Branch established a special task force, proactively liaised with coal suppliers, precisely matched Xinjiang coal specifications, and optimized transportation routes to achieve the goals of “selling good coal at favorable prices and routing premium coal through optimal corridors”.
In terms of process development, the Central China Branch drew on prior proven experience in introducing new coal types into Anhui, Hubei, and Jiangxi provinces, rapidly streamlining all links across the value chain, including quantity and quality acceptance, receivable collection, and procurement settlement and payment, reducing the settlement and invoicing cycle to below 30 days, and realizing a closed-loop management characterized by “swift contract signing, reliable coal supply, and prompt payment returns”. The entire process from resource to final delivery for the first 38,308-tonne batch was executed with seamless efficiency, establishing a standard template for future large-scale, regular shipments.
The successful completion of this operation is a vivid illustration of the “integrated production-transportation-sales” operational advantage. On the one hand, it has effectively expanded the reach of Xinjiang coal into more distant markets, providing a stable supply lifeline for thermal power and chemical enterprises in the Central China during the peak summer demand period, thereby supporting stable production and efficiency gains while alleviating the tight supply-demand balance in the regional energy market. On the other hand, by scaling up outbound shipments to unleash Xinjiang’s high-quality production capacity, it is expected to drive an additional 500,000 tonnes in annual sales of Xinjiang coal into Hubei, Jiangxi, and Anhui provinces, establishing a new driver for profitability.
