At 19:00 on January 2, a long siren pierced the nighscape over the Pearl River as, the vessel Yuanfeng 218, loaded with 1,966 tons of coal, departed Zhuhai Gaolan Wharf for CHN Energy Zhaoqing Power Plant. This maiden voyage not only marked the official launch of the river transportation and distribution business for Zhaoqing Power Plant by the Shipping Company, but also meant the full coverage of logistics services for 49 integrated coastal and riverine power plants of CHN Energy was fully achieved. It was a key step in building the Company’s integrated energy transportation system.
To ensure the efficient and smooth execution of this initiative, the Shipping Company implemented a series of supporting measures systematically. It actively coordinated with Sales Group, E-commerce Company and Zhuhai Port Authority to establish a cross-unit, full-process collaboration mechanism. Through in-depth visits to barge transportation partners, it comprehensively assessed the capacity allocation, safety management and environmental compliance, consolidating the foundation for long-term cooperation. A regular communication channel was set up with Zhaoqing Power Plant to gain a precise understanding of its coal demand and unloading specifications, achieving accurate supply demand matching. It organized a professional team to conduct multiple rounds of on-site surveys on inland river channels, bridge navigation conditions and wharf facilities. On this basis, it tailored a safe, economical and efficient integrated inland river transportation plan. Through scientific research and refined operation, it optimized the inquiry and procurement process. It is expected to save the power plant approximately 20 million yuan in logistics costs annually. It significantly improved the Company’s overall logistics efficiency and economic benefits.
The smooth opening of the Zhaoqing river shipping route further enhanced the Shipping Company’s comprehensive service capabilities and brand influence in the inland river transportation market of the Pearl River Basin. Through green and efficient logistics services, it injected sustained and stable shipping momentum into the economic development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
