Recently, China’s first domestic full electric wheel bucket continuous coal mining system completed heavy-haul debugging at the Baorixile Mine. After being mined by the bucket, the coal was delivered to a designated location through the funnel of the discharging arm via the feeding arm and central funnel, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent joint trial operation and formal production of the project.

With a total investment of RMB 153.21 million, the project marks China’s first wheel bucket continuous coal mining system with electric drive, featuring continuous operations, minimal labor, low carbon emissions and smartness. Upon completion, this project will revolutionize open-pit coal mining production processes, enabling a new operational model characterized by “autonomous mining and multi-machine collaboration”. For example, with an annual production capacity of five million tonnes, the project is expected to reduce unit production cost by RMB 5.67 per tonne and save RMB 28.35 million in transportation costs. The whole system is powered 100% by electricity, with a total carbon emission of approximately 2.8612 kilograms per kilowatt-hour. Moreover, it can autonomously operate under preset operational parameters, demonstrating great significance for scientific and technological advancement in the industry and the intelligent mining of energy resources in China.
