Recently, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) held an event to announce the inclusion of central SOE industrial cultural heritage sites in the mining industry, where the Heidaigou Open-pit Coal Mine under Zhunneng Group was successfully listed. .
Located in the central area of the Jungar Coalfield in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the Heidaigou Open-pit Coal Mine was a key project under China’s Eighth Five-year Plan and Ninth Five-year Plan. Covering an area of 45.108 square kilometers, it was initially designed with an annual production capacity of 12 million tonnes. Construction began in 1990, with trial production starting in 1996 and official operation commencing in 1999. In 2011, it became the first open-pit coal mine with the annual production of 30 million tonnes in China with a single working face, marking a historic milestone. With its current approved capacity standing at 34 million tonnes per year, the mine produces long-flame coal characterized by low sulfur, ultra-low phosphorus, high ash melting point, high volatility, and high calorific value, averaging 4,600 kilocalories per kilogram. With its world-class open-pit mining technique and equipment, the mine has set a model for environmental protection and development in the open-pit mining industry, earning the reputation of “the Most Beautiful Mine in China”. At present, the mine has published 12 technical standards for enterprise, achieved 7 scientific and technological awards at the provincial and ministerial level or above, and set 24 new records for Chinese enterprises and public institutions certified by the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC).
