As of March 21, the container transportation volume of Baoshen Railway reached 20,792 TEUs, surpassing the milestone of 20,000 TEUs. This marks an increase of 4,926 TEUs compared to the same period last year, up by 31.05%, actively supporting the increase in transportation and production volume.
Since the beginning of this year, based on the operation status of CHN Energy’s railway transportation system, Baoshen Railway Group has focused on reducing the comprehensive logistics costs of large-scale logistics and vigorously developed efficient, low-cost, environment-friendly, and convenient containerized transportation services, stimulating the overall vitality of industries along the route. By tapping into the surrounding container transportation market, efforts have been made to promote container transportation for PVC and alumina, and encourage clients engaged in semi-coke to adopt container-loading transportation, leading to an increase in the number of container cargo of over 5000 TEUs. To reduce costs and improve efficiency, a “pendulum-style” transportation model has been implemented, focusing on the PVC (forward transportation) and alumina (reverse transportation) businesses between Baotou and Huanghua. Scientific arrangements have been made for bidirectional transportation, achieving unified locations, standards, and supervision for loading and unloading operations of upstream and downstream heavy-haul trains to coordinate bidirectional transportation, thus greatly reducing the overall transportation time and marginal costs. Ten trains carrying over 2,500 TEUs have been operated under the pendulum-style transportation model within the year. With the purpose of promoting container transportation under the “one-container system”, Baoshen Railway Group has conducted extensive exchanges and cooperation with multiple ports and shipping units in Hebei, Tianjin, and other regions, deepened cooperation in information acquisition, market development, and transportation organization, continuously integrated logistics resources, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of large-scale containerized transportation.
