Recently, the Yellow River Ecological Corridor Project initiated by Zhunneng Group officially commenced construction.

As a key ecological project of the company to deeply implement ecological protection and high-quality development along the Yellow River basin, the project targets ecological restoration and comprehensive governance of riverside zones, aiming to systematically enhance regional ecological functions and greatly optimize living environment, thereby demonstrating the responsibility and commitment of local central enterprises. With a total investment of RMB 71.11 million, the project covers the slope section, the first section, the second section and the third section, and covers an area of around 1,021 hectares. More than 440,000 adaptive trees and shrubs will be planted, and mixed grass seeds will cover nearly 400,000 square meters. Supporting facilities include water intercepting ditches, drainage ditches, guardrails, retaining walls and garden paths for soil and water conservation and landscape improvement. The completed corridor will integrate soil and water protection, ecological defense and leisure scenery along the Yellow River in Jungar Banner.

Each section adopts tailored construction schemes with distinct priorities. The slope section covers 377,800 square meters, focusing on earthwork arrangement, gravel path paving, landscape greening and irrigation system layout. Around 45,700 native trees are planted, including mountain peach, mountain apricot, Chinese pine, spruce and Scotch pine, to upgrade the local landscape appearance. Spanning 465.35 hectares, the first section has soil-conservation tree species planted such as Chinese pine, spruce, apricot tree, caragana, amorpha fruticosa and wild jujube, and builds intercepting ditches, guardrails and retaining walls to reinforce slope stability. Covering 299.58 hectares, the second section has saplings cultivated including Chinese pine, spruce, apricot tree and populus alba, and carries out path paving and guardrail installation simultaneously to balance ecological restoration and leisure use. Occupying 218.42 hectares, the third section has nearly 100,000 saplings arranged alongside paths, warning signs and landscape stones to improve overall ecological scenery.

Up to now, 6,950 wild peach trees and 3,600 pine trees have been planted in the slope section. Earthwork has reached 75% completion, and dead tree removal has finished 80%. A total of 2,125 tree pits have been dug in the other three sections.

The project serves as a landmark initiative of China Shenhua's commitment to the philosophy of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" and boosts local green development. The company will arrange construction resources in scientific ways and strictly control safety, quality and progress. All efforts will build an exemplary high-quality project for ecological protection and restoration along the Yellow River.
