On April 28, Tianjin Port and Tianjin Maritime Safety Administration inked an agreement on cooperation framework for a joint innovation workshop, pledging joint research of key technologies for major projects. The two sides will accelerate the pace of building Tianjin Port into a globally leading port that is intelligent, eco-friendly, efficient and safe so as to better serve major national strategies.
The signing of the agreement represents a concrete move of the Tianjin Port in implementing the requirements of the Outline of Building China into a Country with Strong Transportation Network released by the State Council and contributing to building Tianjin into an international shipping hub in north China. It is also a move of the Tianjin Port to implement the overall strategy of China Energy, its parent company. According to the agreement, the two sides will follow the principle of taking each other as a first choice partner, complementing each other with their distinctive advantages and pursuing common development. They will focus on the study of intelligent loading and unloading and safe berthing of ships. Based on intelligent upgrading of infrastructure and equipment, they will actively advance in-depth integration of port businesses with the new generation of information technologies, including blockchain, 5G, big data, the Internet of Things, and mobile Internet. The aim is to realize smart automation of production, coordination in business operation, and objective and intelligent technology-enabled decision making. The two sides will jointly apply for patents, push for the formulation of industrial standards and advance intelligent and eco-friendly operation of the bulk cargo port, making new contributions to building the Tianjin Port into a world-class eco-friendly and intelligent hub port.
